Borderlands 2 – Screenshots Released
The original Borderlands was runner-up Game of the Year back in 2009, so naturally we’re all looking forward to the sequel. We’ll have to wait until early 2012 for the full release, and maybe a few months for trailers/gameplay etc, but in the meantime, here’s some recently released screenshots.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive – Coming To PSN, XBLA And PC
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the third part of the series, has been announced for Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, PC. This latest instalment intends to expand the team-based gameplay using new game modes, maps and weapons.
Almost immediately after it’s release in August 1999, the original Counter-Strike became the most played online PC action game in the world. Even after 12 years at the top, it has continued to be one of the most popular games in the world, with the franchise selling over 25 millions copies. The series has also headlined several gaming tournaments across the world, and continues to do so.
The game is due for release in early 2012, meaning that eager fans would have waited 8 years for a sequel toCounter-Strike: Source, which was released back in 2004.
Far Cry 3: Tropic Thunder Screenshots Released

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Gets More Content
At E3 earlier this year, Konami announced the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection would be launched for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The bundle would include Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
But as from today Hideo Kojima has revealed exactly which versions of the games will be included, more specifically Metal Gear Solid 3 will be the Subsistence edition which added an online mode, and the ability to control the games camera with the right analog stick. Since the Subsistence edition of Metal Gear Solid 3 also includes the original Metal Gear (not Metal Gear Solid) and Metal Gear 2 games, in emulated form, this means gamers will be getting a lot more for their money than previously thought.
Origin Required To Play Battlefield 3
With Sivi our “General PC Gamer” I thought it was best I wrote this story with as little biased opinion on how ridiculous EA have been about unleashing there new service Origin otherwise there will be very little information and just down right disgusting language, so here we go.
EA has announced that in order to play Battlefield 3 on the PC, you will be required to obtain there heavily pushed service Origin. With EA unwilling to release the game on Steam due to restrictions, it seems this is just another step in the ongoing war between themselves and Valve. DICE’S Community Manager Daniel Martos had this to say ”Origin will be required in order to play Battlefield 3 if the game is bought in retail. We don’t know whether this is true if the game is downloaded through a digital download service other than Origin, but we suspect Origin will be required no matter what.”
During Battlefield 3′s Alpha trial is was also suggested that Origin was sapping CPU power whilst running the game, although EA has said they are working on resolving this issue.
Google + Are Coming! Announces New Games Service
Here comes the big boys. It seems whatever Google wants, they get, so Facebook must be frantically looking over there shoulder when it was announced that Google Plus has rolled out its brand new games service with the creative title Google Plus Games. Okay so maybe its not that creative but you can be sure that with Google at the helm of such a powerful creation, this could not only take over Facebook but destroy it. Maybe it is a bit to soon to make such suggestions with the limited time frame Google Plus has been about but its a fair suggestion at that.
There has only been 16 games announced for the service but that does not mean the quality isn’t there. Facebook favourites Zynga Poker, Bejeweled Blitz and Angry Birds will all feature with a bucket load more to be announced in the future. Games have become a big part of Facebook in recent years with 40 year old mums having to find something to do in the day time whilst there little terrors are running around causing havoc, so it makes sense that Google would enter the party when it comes to this. Although just because the search engine giants have acquired these new games, don’t expect them to force you to play them. Google have made it very clear that they are offering this as an extra to Google Plus, when you want to play them then they are there, when you don’t, they are gone.
Google are coming and they mean business.
Nintendo Patents Massively Single-Playing Online Games
Nintendo has always been a bit cautious when it comes to online gaming, with the DS and Wii both using the hugely unpopular ‘Friend Code’ system. While the 3DS still uses a form of the Friend Code system, gamers can instead add friends locally via Wi-Fi.
This is due to Nintendo not wanting people to have their gaming experience ruined by those unruly gamers pent on annoying others. This may be why Nintendo has filed a patent for a new type of game, a Massively SINGLE-playing Online Game.
This new type of game aims to offer all the benefits of a massive online community but without actually dealing with the people themselves. The idea being that player’s actions will change and affect the gameplay for all players, but the players will never actually meet one another.
Sesame Street Once Upon a Monster Debut Trailer
I don’t care how old you are, you will be buying this game. The debut trailer for Double Fine’s Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster was released yesterday, showing you how you or your little ones can enjoy the wonderful adventure with Cookie Monster, Elmo and apparently a perverted dad watching you from behind, weird.
